General
An identity contains all the configuration data needed to register on a PBX/with the provider and to enable telephoning. Up to 6 identities can be configured for the phone. One of these identities is the default identity.
The following applies to the default identity:
There is only one default identity.
The default identity is automatically used for dialled calls.
If only one identity has been configured, it is automatically the default identity.
If more than one identity has been set up, you can configure an Identity function key for each identity. If necessary, (e.g. if there is a problem with the default identity), you can simply press the appropriate function key to set another current identity as the default identity.
*Note: The exception to this are the fallback identities. Fallback identities inherit their status from the main identity.
*Caution: The default identity does not switch automatically. If a default identity fails, the LED on the appropriate function key lights up red.
