
Safety Information
To ensure that you are able to use the COMtrexx Next safely and without faults, comply with the notes below. Improper use may, for example, cause functional restrictions, destruction of the device or, in a worst case scenario, personal injury. You will find any necessary additional warning notices about using the device in the relevant sections.
Read the instructions for the device and keep them for future reference.
Safe connection and operation
Danger of electric shock. Ensure you comply with the relevant regulations when handling supply voltage and devices attached to the mains. Connect the device as described in these Instructions. Only connect the device's connection cables to wall sockets that are designed for that purpose, and that have been properly installed. Take note of the technical data on the type plate and in these Instructions. Only use original accessories and original replacement parts.
Risk of electric shock during thunderstorms. Have all cables installed – including those for the door station – inside the building (by a qualified electrician).
Possible damage due to overheating. Never cover the device.
Location Characteristics
Only operate the PBX in closed, dry rooms. Note the values given for ambient temperature and humidity in the technical data.
Possible damage due to mechanical stress. Do not expose the device to direct sunlight. Avoid mechanical loads (e.g. vibrations). Protect the device from dirt, excessive dust and condensation.
Possible damage due to sabotage. Prevent unauthorised persons from gaining access to the device and its programming.
Limitations on Use
Danger of electric shock. Do not operate a damaged device.
Risk of electric shock during thunderstorms. Do not touch the device during an electrical storm.
Not for use in life support systems or applications within nuclear facilities. The device can only be used for these purposes with prior written permission/clarification from the manufacturer in each individual case.
Necessary Knowledge for Configuration
Potential danger to persons due to incomplete or faulty setup, e.g. due to emergency calls not being able to be made. The configuration of the product is made via an integrated web server whose pages are called via web browser. The user interface of the web server (web interface) is available in German, English and French. The detailed operating instructions (online help) is provided in German and English. If you are not familiar with these languages, and the technical terms that are used, seek support from someone who has the necessary technical and language skills.
Repair
Danger of electric shock. Do not open the device. Only the manufacturer is permitted to open the device and repair it.
Cleaning
Risk of electric shock and/or possible damage due to liquid penetration. Only clean the device/power supply with a dry cloth.
Data protection
Take suitable measures for protecting your data and the PBX against misuse:
Make consistent use of all the options offered by the PBX to protect against misuse. This includes the assignment of PINs and passwords, the use of multi-factor authentication (MFA) and the sensible use of the available authorisations (programming authorisation, office routing, etc.)
Never tell anyone the user names, passwords, PINs or secret keys. This applies to postings in forums and communities, router service logs or recorded network protocols.
Regularly check the system events and the call data recording of your COMtrexx and, if necessary, the logs of your NAT router for discrepancies.
