*Safety Information
To ensure that you are able to use the COMtrexx Business safely and without faults, comply with the notes below. Improper use may, for example, cause functional restrictions, destruction of the device or, in a worst case scenario, personal injury. You will find any necessary additional warning notices about using the device in the relevant sections.
Read the instructions for the device and keep them for future reference.
Connecting Safely
Danger of electric shock. Ensure you comply with the relevant regulations when handling supply voltage and devices attached to the mains. Connect the device as described in these Instructions. Only connect the device's connection cables to wall sockets that are designed for that purpose, and that have been properly installed. Take note of the technical data on the type plate and in these Instructions. Only use original accessories and original replacement parts.
Only work on active, contact-hazardous parts after a voltage-free condition has been established. Working near active parts is only permitted if these parts are voltage-free or protected against direct contact.
Pull out the device's power plug before instructing a qualified electrician to open the casing to install the expansion module, or switch or connect equipment. Also disconnect the devices from additional power sources (e.g. UPS, if installed).
Wait for any capacitors to discharge. The electrolytic capacitors of the switching power supply or the ringer voltage can still be charged for a longer period of time even after the power plug has been pulled out or in the event of a power failure.
Risk of electric shock during thunderstorms. Do not touch the device during an electrical storm. Have all cables installed – including those for the door station – inside the building (by a qualified electrician).
Possible damage caused by electrostatic charging.Divert electrostatic charges away from yourself before touching the circuit boards with your hands or the tool. To do this, touch an earthed metallic object, such as the device's earthing terminal or a PC casing.
Safe Use
Danger of electric shock. Only operate the device when the casing is closed and when it is securely fastened in a 19" rack. For some installation and maintenance work, it is necessary to open the device while it is in operation (this should only be done by a qualified electrician). Make sure that the device is never left unattended while working with an open casing.
Possible damage due to overheating. Never cover the air vents of the casing.
Risk of electric shock during thunderstorms. Protect the devices by installing overvoltage protection.
Possible disruptions due to power failure or power supply overload. If possible, provide a separate electric circuit for the connection that supplies the COMtrexx.
Location Characteristics
This device is not suitable for use in places where children may be present.
Only operate the PBX in closed, dry rooms. Note the values given for ambient temperature and humidity in the technical data.
Danger of electric shock. Mount the device close of an earth wire (potential compensation bar of the house installation or protective earth conductor). Connect the COMtrexx's earth connection with a connecting cable whose conductor diameter is at least 2.5 mm2 to the earth wire.
Possible damage due to mechanical stress. Do not expose the device to direct sunlight. Avoid mechanical loads (e.g. vibrations). Protect the device from dirt, excessive dust and condensation.
Possible impairment due to electromagnetic fields. Avoid the vicinity of devices that emit electromagnetic fields or react sensitively to them (e.g. radio receivers, professional radio equipment, amateur radio equipment, mobile phones, DECT systems, etc.).
Possible damage due to sabotage. Prevent unauthorized access to the COMtrexx and its programming.
Limitations on Use
Danger of electric shock. Do not operate a damaged device. Do not make any structural changes to the device.
Not for use in life support systems or applications within nuclear facilities. The device can only be used for these purposes with prior written permission/clarification from the manufacturer in each individual case.
Necessary Knowledge for Configuration
Danger of electric shock. Only a qualified electrician may open the casing, perform installation work within an open casing or service work using the buttons inside the casing. If necessary, commission an authorised dealer to perform this work.
Potential danger to persons due to incomplete or faulty setup, e.g. due to emergency calls not being able to be made. The configuration of the product is made via an integrated web server whose pages are called via web browser. The user interface of the web server (web interface) is available in German, English and French. The detailed operating instructions (online help) is provided in German and English. If you are not familiar with these languages, and the technical terms that are used, seek support from someone who has the necessary technical and language skills.
Repair
Possible damage, safety and EMC regulation violations due to unauthorized modifications to the device.Only the manufacturer is permitted to repair the device. Please contact your qualified electrician or contact the manufacturer directly.
Cleaning
Risk of electric shock and/or possible damage due to liquid penetration. Only clean the device with a dry cloth.
Data protection
Take suitable measures for protecting your data and the PBX against misuse:
Make consistent use of all the options offered by the PBX to protect against misuse. This includes the assignment of PINs and passwords, the use of multi-factor authentication (MFA) and the sensible use of the available authorisations (programming authorisation, office routing, etc.)
Never tell anyone the user names, passwords, PINs or secret keys. This applies to postings in forums and communities, router service logs or recorded network protocols.
Regularly check the system events and the call data recording of your COMtrexx and, if necessary, the logs of your NAT router for discrepancies.
Additional information about protecting the system from misuse can be found in the internet on the pages of the German Federal Office for Information Security (see www.bsi.bund.de search text: TK-Anlagen).
